Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 But nay! I call to witness the accusing voice of man's own conscience! 2 Does man assume that We will never assemble his bones? 3 Yes indeed; We have the power to remould even his finger-tips. 4 None the less man chooses to deny what lies ahead of him, 5 He questions: "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 But when the sight is dazed 7 the moon eclipsed. 8 And the sun and the moon will be united. 9 Man will say on that Day, "Where is the [place of] escape?" 10 No, there is no refuge. 11 The only place of refuge will be with God. 12 On that day man is told the tale of that which he hath sent before and left behind. 13 But lo, man is well aware of himself, 14 even though he might make up excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it (the Revelation) to hasten it. 16 We Ourself shall see to its collection and recital. 17 So, when We recite it, follow thou its recitation. 18 Then upon Us is its clarification [to you]. 19 By no means! Verily ye love the Herein. 20 And neglect the hereafter. 21 Some faces will be radiant on that Day, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 And (other) faces on that day shall be gloomy, 24 dreading some great affliction. 25 Nay, when (the soul) reaches to the collar bone (i.e. up to the throat in its exit), 26 and people ask, "Is there any wizard [that could save him]?" 27 And he will conclude that it was (the Time) of Parting; 28 When legs are twisted around each other, 29 To your Lord, that Day, will be the procession. 30
