The News (Al-Naba')
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ What are they asking each other about? 1 Of the mighty Announcement, 2 Concerning which they differ. 3 Nay! they shall soon come to know 4 Nay, again, they will come to know! 5 Have We not made the earth a resting place? 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 and created you in pairs (as men and women), 8 And made your sleep [a means for] rest 9 And made the night as a covering, 10 and made the day to seek livelihood, 11 And built seven strong roofs above you. 12 And placed a lamp therein brightly burning. 13 And We have sent down from the rain-clouds water plenteous. 14 to make the seeds, plants, 15 and thick gardens grow? 16 Indeed, the Day of Decision is an appointed time, 17 the day the Trumpet is blown, and you shall come in troops, 18 and heaven is opened, and become gates, 19 The mountains will be driven away and become like mirages. 20 Indeed, Hell has been lying in wait 21 For the exorbitant a receptacle. 22 there, they shall live for ages, 23 tasting therein neither coolness nor any drink 24 Save a boiling fluid and a fluid, dark, murky, intensely cold, 25 as a fitting recompense for their deeds. 26 For verily, they used not to look for a reckoning. 27 They called Our revelations false with strong denial. 28 However, We have recorded everything in a book. 29 Therefore taste it now – We shall not increase anything for you except the punishment. 30
