The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun shall be darkened, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 And when the mountains are driven. 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 and when the seas are set on fire, 6 And when the souls he paired, 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 for what crime she had been slain, 9 And when the pages are made public 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 When Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when Paradise is brought near. 13 [on that Day] every human being will come to know what he has prepared [for himself]. 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 stars which are visible during the night 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 And by the dawn when it breathes 18 That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 Obeyed there [in the heavens] and trustworthy. 21 And (O people) your companion (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is not a madman; 22 Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 Nor is this the utterance of a devil worthy to be stoned. 25 Where then are you going? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 And ye will not, unless (it be) that Allah willeth, the Lord of Creation. 29
