Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Has the story reached thee of the overwhelming (Event)? 1 On that Day, there shall be downcast faces, 2 Working [hard] and exhausted. 3 they shall enter a burning Fire 4 watered at a boiling fountain, 5 no food for them except thorny plants 6 Which neither nourishes nor avails against hunger. 7 [And] some faces will on that Day shine with bliss, 8 Glad for their effort past, 9 In a high Garden. 10 where they will hear no idle talk. 11 Therein will be a flowing spring, 12 therein uplifted couches 13 well arranged goblets, 14 and arranged cushions 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 Will they not then consider the camels, how they are created? 17 And the heaven, how it is raised? 18 how the mountains were hoisted, 19 and on the earth, how it is spread out? 20 So remind them (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)), you are only a one who reminds. 21 Thou art not one to manage (men's) affairs. 22 But whosoever will turn back and disbelieve 23 Him Allah shall torment with the greatest torment. 24 Indeed only towards Us is their return 25 and then it is for Us to call them to account. 26
