(Muhammad), have you ever seen the one who has turned away (from guidance), 33 and grudgingly spends very little for the cause of God? 34 Does he have knowledge of the unseen, so he sees? 35 Has he not been informed of what is in the Scrolls of Moses, 36 and of Abraham, who lived up to the trust? 37 That no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another 38 And that man hath only that for which he maketh effort, 39 And that his deeds will be seen, 40 Then he will be recompensed with a full and the best recompense. 41 That to thy Lord is the final Goal; 42 And that it is He (Allah) Who makes (whom He wills) laugh, and makes (whom He wills) weep; 43 And that He it is Who causes death and gives life- 44 And that He creates the two mates - the male and female - 45 From a drop of semen when emitted; 46 and that upon Him is the second creation 47 That it is He Who giveth wealth and satisfaction; 48 and that He is the Lord of (the star) Sirius, 49 It was He who totally destroyed the former 'Ad 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace of them, 51 and the people of Noah before -- certainly they did exceeding evil, and were insolent 52 And that it is He Who threw down the upturned townships? 53 so that there came upon them that which came. 54 Then which of thy Lord's bounties disputest thou? 55 This is a warning just like those of former times. 56 The Imminent is imminent; 57 none except Allah can disclose it. 58 Does this statement seem strange to them 59 And you laugh at it and weep not, 60 And ye are behaving proudly. 61 So prostrate to Allah and worship [Him]. ۩ 62
