Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ I CALL TO WITNESS the Day of Resurrection, 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul. 2 Does man think We shall not put his bones together? 3 Yes indeed; We are able to shape again his fingers. 4 In fact man wishes to commit evil in front of Him! 5 He asketh: When will be this Day of Resurrection? 6 When the eye is bewildered, 7 and the moon is darkened, 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together 9 Man shall say on that day: Whither to fly to? 10 By no means! No place of safety! 11 unto thy Lord that Day is the recourse. 12 That Day will Man be told (all) that he put forward, and all that he put back. 13 Oh, but man is a telling witness against himself, 14 And even if he presents all the excuses he has, none will be listened to. 15 Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it. 16 for, behold, it is for Us to gather it [in thy heart,] and to cause it to be read [as it ought to be read]. 17 And so when We recite it, follow its recitation attentively; 18 Again on Us (devolves) the explaining of it. 19 Nay! But you love the present life, 20 and neglect the life to come. 21 Some faces on that Day will be fresh and resplendent, 22 looking towards their Lord; 23 And (other) faces on that day shall be gloomy, 24 dreading some great affliction. 25 NAY, but when [the last breath] comes up to the throat [of a dying man,] 26 And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?" 27 And he will realise that this is the parting. 28 And one shank is entangled with the other shank. 29 On that Day you will be driven to your Lord. 30
