And recite to them the story of Ibrahim. 69 When he said unto his father and his people: what worship ye? 70 They answered: We worship idols, and we remain ever devoted to them." 71 'Do they hear you when you call on them' He asked. 72 Or do they benefit or harm you? 73 They exclaimed: But we found our forefathers doing the same!" 74 He said: "Do you observe that which you have been worshipping, 75 You and your ancient sires. 76 they are all my enemies, not so the Lord of the Universe, 77 He created me and He will guide me. 78 "Who gives me food and drink, 79 and, whenever I am sick, heals me, 80 He will cause me to die and will bring me back to life. 81 And Who, I ardently hope, will forgive me my sin on the Day of Judgment. 82 My Lord, give me judgment, and join me with the righteous. 83 And uphold my name with posterity, 84 and make me of those who will inherit the Garden of Bliss, 85 and forgive my father; for he is one of the misguided; 86 And humiliate me not on the Day whereon people shall be raised. 87 The day when neither wealth nor children will be of any avail 88 except him who comes before Allah with a pure heart; 89 And Paradise shall be brought forward for the godfearing, 90 whereas the blazing fire will be laid open before those who had been lost in grievous error; 91 They will be asked: "Where are those you worshipped 92 "'Besides Allah? Can they help you or help themselves?' 93 They will then be thrown into Hell with those who had gone astray 94 "And the whole hosts of Iblis together. 95 And they will say, when they are quarrelling therein: 96 By Allah, of a truth we were in error manifest 97 when we made you equal with the Lord of all Being. 98 And no one misguided us except the criminals. 99 so now we have no intercessors, 100 no caring friend. 101 Then if we only had a return [to the world] and could be of the believers... " 102 Verily! In this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 103 And indeed your Lord – only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 104
