Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
60 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Dunes (Al-Ahqaaf) before Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I swear by the wind that scatters far and wide, 1 And (the clouds) that bear heavy weight of water; 2 then the easy runners (the ships); 3 then by the distributors (angels), ordered; 4 surely that you are promised is true, 5 and the Judgement shall doubtlessly take place. 6 By the beautiful heavens, 7 surely you are deeply at variance [as to what to believe] -- 8 he is turned away from [the truth] who is destined to be so turned away. 9 Cursed be the liars, 10 Those who (flounder) heedless in a flood of confusion: 11 They ask, "When it will be the Day of Judgment?" 12 It will be the Day when they are tormented at the Fire. 13 "Taste you your trial (burning)! This is what you used to ask to be hastened!" 14 Surely those who fear God and follow the straight path will be amidst gardens and fresh springs of water, 15 They shall receive what their Lord will bestow on them. They have done good works in the past, 16 they used to sleep but little by night, 17 And in the hours before dawn they would ask forgiveness, 18 and sharing their possessions with the beggars and the deprived. 19 In the earth there is evidence (of the Truth) for those who have strong faith. 20 And also in your own selves. Behold ye not? 21 And in heaven is [the source of] your sustenance [on earth] and [of] all that you are promised [for your life after death]: 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth! it is most surely the truth, just as you do speak. 23

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
