A multitude of those (on the Right Hand) will be from the first generation (who embraced Islam). 39 and many from the later generations. 40 And the fellows on the left hand; how miserable shall the fellows on the left hand be! 41 In hot wind and boiling water, 42 And shadow of black smoke, 43 Neither cool nor pleasant. 44 Surely they were before that made to live in ease and plenty. 45 And they used to persist in the great violation, 46 They used to say: “What! Once we are dead and are reduced to dust and bones, shall we still be raised to a new life from the dead? 47 "(We) and our fathers of old?" 48 Say: "Yea, those of old and those of later times, 49 shall all be brought together on an appointed Day. 50 Then you, the erring ones and those that gave the lie to the Truth, 51 "Ye will surely taste of the Tree of Zaqqum. 52 "Then you will fill your bellies therewith, 53 and thereupon you shall drink boiling water, 54 "So you will drink (that) like thirsty camels!" 55 Such will be their welcome on the Day of Judgement. 56 We created you, then why do you believe not? 57 Have you thought about what (sperm) you ejaculate? 58 Did you create it or was it We who created it? 59 We! it is We Who have decreed death unto you all. And We are not to be outrun. 60 in replacing you with another creation like you, changing you into a form which you do not know. 61 And ye certainly know already the first form of creation: why then do ye not celebrate His praises? 62 Have you seen what you sow? 63 Is it ye that cause it to grow, or are We the Cause? 64 If We willed, surely We would make it chaff, so that ye would be left wondering. 65 crying, "We have been left to suffer loss. 66 "Indeed are we shut out (of the fruits of our labour)" 67 Have you considered the water which you drink? 68 Is it you who cause it to come down from the clouds - or are We the cause of its coming down? 69 If We pleased, We would have made it salty; why do you not then give thanks? 70 Have you thought about the fire that you kindle. 71 Was it ye who made the tree thereof to grow, or were We the grower? 72 We have made it a reminder and an advantage for the wayfarers of the desert. 73 (Muhammad), glorify your Lord, the Great One. 74
