Therefore, remind. By the Favor of Allah, you are neither a soothsayer, nor mad. 29 Do they say, "He is only a poet and we are waiting to see him die!?" 30 Say thou: "Wait, [then,] hopefully; behold, I, too, shall hopefully wait with you!" 31 Is this what their senses tell them, or are they a rebellious people? 32 Or do they say: He has forged it. Nay! they do not believe. 33 Let them then produce a recital like unto it,- If (it be) they speak the truth! 34 Or were they created out of naught? Or are they the creators? 35 Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Nay, but they are sure of nothing! 36 Or have they the depositories [containing the provision] of your Lord? Or are they the controllers [of them]? 37 Or have they a ladder by which they could [ascend to ultimate truths and] listen [to what is beyond the reach of human perception]? Let, then, any of them who have listened [to it] produce a manifest proof [of his knowledge]! 38 What! The daughters for Him, and the sons for you? 39 Or is it that [they who reject thy message, O Muhammad, fear lest] thou ask of them a reward, so that they would be burdened with debt [if they should listen to thee]? 40 Do they possess knowledge of the unseen, so that they can write it down? 41 Or are they contriving a stratagem against you? If so, that stratagem will rebound against the unbelievers. 42 Or do they have a God besides Allah? Purity is to Allah from their ascribing of partners to Him. 43 And if they were to see a fragment from the sky falling, they would say, "[It is merely] clouds heaped up." 44 so leave them alone till they face the Day on which they will be struck dumb, 45 The Day when their guile shall not relieve them a thing, and they shall not be helped. 46 And there surely awaits the evildoers a chastisement beyond even that, but most of them know it not. 47 And so, await in patience thy Sustainer's judgment, for thou art well within Our sight. And extol thy Sustainer's limitless glory and praise whenever thou risest up, 48 and proclaim the praise of thy Lord in the night, and at the declining of the stars. 49
