The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
56 verses, revealed in Mecca after Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil) before The Key (Al-Faatehah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
O you who covers himself [with a garment], 1 Arise and warn 2 Thy Lord magnify, 3 And thine raiment purify. 4 stay away from sins 5 And do not favour others in order to receive more. 6 And for the sake of your Lord, patiently endure. 7 And when the trumpet is blown, 8 that very Day shall be a day of anguish, 9 not of ease, for all who [now] deny the truth! 10 Let Me alone with him whom I created lonely. 11 And for whom I appointed wealth extended. 12 and sons to be by his side, 13 and for whom I have smoothed the way (to power and riches), 14 Yet he wants that I should give him more. 15 Not at all! Surely, he has been disobedient to Our verses. 16 Soon will I visit him with a mount of calamities! 17 He reflected, and then determined 18 So may he be destroyed [for] how he deliberated. 19 May be then be accursed, how he plotted! 20 and then he looks [around for new arguments,] 21 And frowned and puckered his brow, 22 then he retreated and grew proud 23 And said: This is naught else than magic from of old; 24 Naught is this but the word of Man. 25 Him shall I soon roast in Hell. 26 And what do you know what Hell is? 27 It lets nothing remain and leaves nothing [unburned], 28 it scorches the skin; 29 Over it are nineteen [angels]. 30 We have appointed only angels to be wardens of the Fire. We have specified their number only as a trial for those who are bent on denying the truth, so that those who were given the Book might gain in certainty, and those who believe might increase in faith -- and so that neither those who have been given the Scripture nor the believers might have any doubts, and that those sick at heart and those who deny the truth might ask, "What does God mean by this parable?" In this way, God lets go astray whom He wills, and guides whom He wills. And none knows the forces of your Lord but He. This is but a Reminder for man. 31

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
