The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
36 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Spider (Al-Ankaboot) before The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Woe to those who give less [than due], 1 those who, when they take from others by measure, take their full share; 2 but when they have to measure or weigh whatever they owe to others, give less than what is due! 3 Do not these think that they shall be raised again 4 On a Mighty Day, 5 when mankind will stand before the Lord of the Universe? 6 No indeed, the Book of the immoral is in Sijjeen. 7 And what will make you know what the Sijjin is? 8 It is a written book. 9 Ah the woe that day for those who deny, 10 and those who have rejected the Day of Judgment. 11 And none can deny it but the Transgressor beyond bounds the Sinner! 12 who, when Our verses are recited to him, says: “Mere tales of olden times!” 13 No indeed; but that they were earning has rusted upon their hearts. 14 Therefore they will be screened off from their Lord that day, 15 Then most surely they shall enter the burning fire. 16 They will then be told: "This is what you had denied." 17 By no means! Verily the record of the virtuous shall be in 'Illiyun. 18 and what shall teach thee what is Illiyun? 19 It is [their destination recorded in] a register inscribed 20 To which bear witness those Nearest (to Allah). 21 Verily, Al-Abrar (the pious who fear Allah and avoid evil) will be in delight (Paradise). 22 On thrones, looking (at all things). 23 You will find in their faces the brightness of bliss. 24 They will be served the choicest wine, sealed 25 whose seal is musk so let all aspirants aspire after that 26 for it is composed of all that is most exalting 27 A fountain from which only they who are honoured drink. 28 Surely they who are guilty used to laugh at those who believe. 29 And whenever they passed by them, used to wink at each other (in mockery); 30 and whenever they return to people of their own kind, they return full of jests; 31 And upon seeing the Muslims, they used to say, “Indeed they have gone astray.” 32 though they were not sent to be their keepers -- 33 But this Day (the Day of Resurrection) those who believe will laugh at the disbelievers 34 On (high) thrones, looking (at all things). 35 Will not the Unbelievers have been paid back for what they did? 36
Almighty God's Truth.
