Have you [Prophet] considered the man who turned away, 33 and gives a little, and then grudgingly? 34 Is with him the knowledge of the unseen so that he sees? 35 Has he not heard what is contained in the Book of Moses, 36 and Abraham, he who paid his debt in full? 37 That no one who carries a burden bears another's load; 38 and that nought shall be accounted unto man but what he is striving for; 39 And that his effort will be seen. 40 Then he will be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense 41 And that to your Lord is your returning; 42 that it is He who causes to laugh and causes to weep. 43 And that He it is Who causes death and gives life- 44 and that it is He who creates the two kinds - the male and the female 45 From a seed when lodged (in its place); 46 And that [incumbent] upon Him is the next creation 47 And that He it is Who enricheth and contenteth; 48 It is He who is the Lord of Sirius. 49 That it was He who destroyed the 'Ad of old, 50 And Thamud, and did not leave them, 51 and the people of Noah; they were the most unjust and rebellious people. 52 and the Subverted City He also overthrew, 53 and covered them with torment. 54 Concerning which then, of the bounties of thy Lord, canst thou dispute? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The Day of Judgment is drawing nearer. 57 None beside Allah can disclose it. 58 Do you, perchance, find this tiding strange? 59 And you laugh and do not weep 60 and divert yourselves all the while? 61 [Nay,] but prostrate yourselves before God, and worship [Him alone]! ۩ 62
