The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is folded up, 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 And when the mountains shall be made to pass away, 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 and when the seas boil over, 6 when the souls are divided into different classes, 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 for what sin she was slain, 9 And when the Writs shall be lain open, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 and Hell is stoked, 12 when Paradise is brought close: 13 then every soul will discover the consequence of its deeds. 14 So verily I call to witness the planets - that recede, 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 And the Night as it dissipates; 17 And the morning when it brightens, 18 That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 Obeyed and worthy there of trust. 21 And your companion is not gone mad. 22 And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon. 23 and he is not one to begrudge others the knowledge [of whatever has been revealed to him] out of that which is beyond the reach of human Perception. 24 Nor is it the word of an evil spirit accursed. 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 for whosoever of you who would go straight; 28 And ye will not, unless (it be) that Allah willeth, the Lord of Creation. 29
