Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Have you received the news of the Enveloper? 1 On that day the faces of some people will be humbly cast down, 2 laboring, wornout, 3 Burning in the scorching fire, 4 their drink shall be from a boiling spring. 5 they shall have no food but thorns, 6 Which will neither fatten nor avail against hunger. 7 However, on that day the faces of other people will be happy. 8 with their striving well-pleased, 9 in a Garden on high, 10 They shall hear therein no vain discourse; 11 therein a running fountain, 12 and raised couches, 13 and goblets set at hand, 14 and cushions arrayed in rows, 15 And carpets ready spread, 16 Do they never reflect on the camels and how they were created, 17 how the heavens are raised up high, 18 And at the mountains, how they are rooted? 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 Therefore advise; indeed you are a proclaimer of advice. (The Holy Prophet is a Remembrance from Allah.) 21 Thou art not one to manage (men's) affairs. 22 However, those who turn away and disbelieve, 23 Allah will punish them with the greatest punishment. 24 Truly, to Us is their return; 25 In Our hands are their accounts. 26
