Al-Hajj 7 of 10
Proclaim, “O mankind, I am for you only a clear Herald of Warning.” 49 Then those who believe and work righteous works - for them is forgiveness and a provision honourable. 50 While those who strive to thwart Our revelations, such are rightful owners of the Fire. 51 And We did not send before you any messenger or prophet except that when he spoke [or recited], Satan threw into it [some misunderstanding]. But Allah abolishes that which Satan throws in; then Allah makes precise His verses. And Allah is Knowing and Wise. 52 That he may make that which the Satan casteth forth a temptation for those in whose heart is a disease and whose hearts are hardened - and the wrong-doers are in divergence far-off 53 and so that those to whom knowledge has been given will know that this is the truth from your Lord and so believe in it and that their hearts will be humble to Him. Indeed, Allah will surely guide those who believe to a Straight Path. 54 Those who deny the truth will continue in doubt until the [Last] Hour suddenly comes upon them or the scourge of the woeful Day descends upon them. 55 On that Day of Dominion will be that of Allah: He will judge between them: so those who believe and work righteous deeds will be in Gardens of Delight. 56 whereas for those who were bent on denying the truth and gave the lie to Our messages, there shall be shameful suffering in store. 57

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
