And Yunus was most surely of the apostles. 139 When he ran away to a ship completely laden, 140 and cast lots, and he was among the losers (of the lots that were cast). 141 [and they cast him into the sea,] whereupon the great fish swallowed him, for he had been blameworthy. 142 And had he not been one of those who glorify (Allah) 143 He would have indeed remained inside its belly (the fish) till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ but We cast him upon the wilderness, and he was sick, 145 And We caused to grow, over him, a spreading plant of the gourd kind. 146 And We sent him to [his people of] a hundred thousand or more. 147 And they believed; so We permitted them to enjoy (their life) for a while. 148 Now ask them whether your Lord has daughters, whereas they have sons. 149 Or did We create the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 Verily, it is of their falsehood that they (Quraish pagans) say: 151 'God has begotten?' They are truly liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters over sons? 153 What is the matter with you, how is it that you judge? 154 Why do you not reflect? 155 Or have ye an authority manifest? 156 Then bring your book, if you are truthful. 157 And they have invented a blood-relationship between Him and the Jinns: but the Jinns know (quite well) that they have indeed to appear (before his Judgment-Seat)! 158 Glory be to God above that they describe, 159 but not so the true servants of God, 160 For, verily, neither ye nor those ye worship- 161 You cannot make anyone rebel against Him. 162 Except he who is to [enter and] burn in the Hellfire. 163 "There is not one of us who does not have his appointed place," (declare the angels.) 164 We are surely those who are arranged in ranks. 165 And verily we! we hallow. 166 And there were those who said, 167 "If we had a reminder as had the men of old (before the coming of Prophet Muhammad SAW as a Messenger of Allah). 168 we would have certainly been sincere servants of God". 169 But they disbelieved in it, so they are going to know. 170 Our word had already been given before to Our votaries, the apostles, -- 171 that, verily, they - they indeed - would be succoured, 172 And that certainly Our armies will be victorious. 173 So turn thou away from them for a little while, 174 And see [what will befall] them, for they are going to see. 175 Do they really wish to hasten Our punishment? 176 So when it does descend in their courtyards – so what an evil morning it will be for those who were warned! 177 So turn thou from them for a while, 178 and watch. They, too, will watch. 179 Hallowed be thine Lord, the Lord of Majesty, from that which they ascribe! 180 And peace upon the messengers. 181 and praise belongs to God, the Lord of all Being. 182
