And indeed We saved the Children of Israel from the humiliating torment, 30 From Fir'awn; verily he was haughty and of the extravagant. 31 And assuredly We elected them with knowledge above the worlds. 32 And We gave them of signs that in which there was a clear trial. 33 Indeed these people say: 34 There is naught but our first death, and we shall not be raised again. 35 "Then bring back our fore-fathers, if you speak the truth!" 36 Are they, then, better than the people of Tubba and those before them, whom We destroyed because they were truly lost in [the same] sin? 37 And We created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, for mere play, 38 We created them not except with truth (i.e. to examine and test those who are obedient and those who are disobedient and then reward the obedient ones and punish the disobedient ones), but most of them know not. 39 The Day of Final Decision is the appointed time for all; 40 On that Day no cousin shall help his cousin and they shall not be helped 41 Except such as receive Allah's Mercy: for He is Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 42
