The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Recite in the name of your Lord Who created, 1 Createth man from a clot. 2 Recite thou: And thy Lord is the Most Bounteous, 3 who taught by the pen, 4 Taught man what he knew not. 5 No indeed; surely Man waxes insolent, 6 That he thinketh himself independent! 7 Surely to your Lord is your return. 8 Have you seen him who restrains 9 A votary when he (turns) to pray? 10 Tell me, if he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is on the guidance (of Allah)? 11 or bade to godfearing -- 12 Hast thou seen if he denieth (Allah's guidance) and is froward? 13 Knoweth he not that Allah beholdeth? 14 Let him know that if he does not desist, We shall certainly drag him by his forelocks, 15 by the lying forelock steeped in sin. 16 and then let him summon [to his aid] the counsels of his own [spurious] wisdom, 17 We will now call the guards! 18 No! Do not obey him. But prostrate and draw near [to Allah]. ۩ 19
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
