The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)

286 verses, revealed in Medina after The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen) before The Spoils of War (Al-Anfaal)

In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Alif-Laam-Meem. (Alphabets of the Arabic language; Allah and to whomever He reveals, know their precise meanings.) 1 This is the Book of Allah: there is no doubt about it. It is guidance to Godfearing people, 2 who believe in the unseen, and are steadfast in prayer, and spend out of what We have provided them with; 3 Who believe in what has been revealed to you and what was revealed to those before you, and are certain of the Hereafter. 4 they are the people who are rightly following their Lord and it is they who shall be successful. 5 Those who deny your message will not believe whether you warn them or not 6 God has sealed their hearts and hearing and their vision is veiled; a great punishment awaits them. 7
