The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The people’s reckoning is near, whereas they are in neglect, turned away! 1 Never does a new reminder come to them from their Lord but they listen to it with dalliance. 2 their hearts being set on other concerns. The wrong-doers whisper to one another: "This person is no more than a mortal like yourselves. Will you, then, be enchanted by sorcery while you see?" 3 He saith: My Lord knoweth what is spoken in the heaven and the earth. He is the Hearer, the Knower. 4 Aye! they say: a medley of dreams; aye! he hath fabricated it; aye! he is a poet; so let him bring us a sign even as the ancients were sent with. 5 There did not believe before them any town which We destroyed, will they then believe? 6 For [even] before thy time, [O Muhammad,] We never sent [as Our apostles] any but [mortal] men, whom We inspired - hence, [tell the deniers of the truth,] "If you do not know this, ask the followers of earlier revelation" 7 And We did not create them without bodies so they would not eat food – nor that they abide on earth forever. 8 then We made true the promise We gave them and We delivered them, and whomsoever We would; and We destroyed the prodigal. 9 We have bestowed upon you a Book that mentions you. Do you not understand? 10
