The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By those who range themselves in ranks, 1 By the angels driving away. 2 Then those who recite, being mindful, 3 Lo! thy Lord is surely One; 4 Lord of the heavens and of the earth and all that is between them, and Lord of the sun's risings. 5 We have adorned the lower heaven with the adornment of the stars 6 And have placed therein a guard against any satan froward. 7 They cannot listen to the exalted assembly and they are thrown at from every side, 8 Repelled; and for them is a constant punishment, 9 Except such as snatch away something by stealing and they are pursued by a flaming fire of piercing brightness. 10 AND NOW ask those [who deny the truth] to enlighten thee: Were they more difficult to create than all those [untold marvels] that We have created? - for, behold, them have We created out of [mere] clay commingled with water! 11 Aye! thou marvellest, and they scoff. 12 They pay no attention when they are reminded 13 And, when they see a Sign, turn it to mockery, 14 And they say, “This is nothing but clear magic.” 15 "What! When we have died and become dust and bones, will we be brought back to life again, 16 "And also our fathers of old?" 17 Say, "Yes, and you will be [rendered] contemptible." 18 There is but one Shout, and lo! they behold, 19 They will say, "O woe to us! This is the Day of Recompense." 20 [And they will be told:] "This is the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false - the Day] which you were wont to call a lie!" 21
