۞ [The angels will be ordered], "Gather those who committed wrong, their kinds, and what they used to worship 22 “Instead of Allah and herd them to the path leading to hell.” 23 "But stop them, for they must be asked: 24 What aileth you that ye succour not one another? 25 Indeed, today they are surrendering themselves completely.” 26 They will then turn towards each other (and start wrangling). 27 "It was you who tried to mislead us from righteousness". 28 They will answer, “You yourselves did not have faith!” 29 “And we did not have any control over you; but in fact you yourselves were rebellious.” 30 "So now the Word of our Lord has been justified against us, that we shall certainly (have to) taste (the torment). 31 “We therefore led you astray, for we ourselves were astray!” 32 Then verily, that Day, they will (all) share in the torment. 33 that is how We deal with evil-doers. 34 Indeed, when it was said to them, “There is no God except Allah”, they were haughty. 35 And they said: are we going to abandon our gods on account of a poet distracted? 36 Nay! he (Muhammad SAW) has come with the truth (i.e. Allah's Religion - Islamic Monotheism and this Quran) and he confirms the Messengers (before him who brought Allah's religion - Islamic Monotheism). 37 Verily, you (pagans of Makkah) are going to taste the painful torment; 38 And you will not be recompensed except for what you used to do - 39 Save the chosen slaves of Allah (faithful, obedient, true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 40 will have their determined sustenance 41 Fruits, and they shall be highly honored, 42 In Gardens of peace. 43 On couches facing one another; 44 a goblet from a spring shall be passed round to them 45 white, a delight to the drinkers, 46 Neither does it intoxicate, nor give a headache. 47 and with them wide-eyed maidens restraining their glances 48 [as free of faults] as if they were hidden [ostrich] eggs. 49 Then they will turn to one another and question one another. 50 A speaker among them will say, "Indeed, I had a companion [on earth] 51 Who used to say: 'Are you one of those who can testify to the truth? 52 What! when we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then be certainly brought to judgment? 53 He will say: -- Do you wish to know where he is now?' 54 Then looketh he and seeth him in the depth of hell. 55 He said: "By Allah! You have nearly ruined me. 56 Had it not been for the grace of my Lord I too would have been there (in Hell). 57 Are we not then to die 58 Except our previous death? And we shall not be chastised? 59 This will indeed be great happiness. 60 For the like of this let the workers work. 61 Is this better as an entertainment or the tree of Zaqqum? 62 We have made this (tree) a trial for the evildoers. 63 It is a tree that grows at the bottom of Hell. 64 The shoots of its fruit-stalks are like the heads of Shayatin (devils); 65 The dwellers of hell will eat that fruit and fill-up their bellies. 66 Then they will have on top of it a mixture of boiling water. 67 then surely they shall return to Hell. 68 Verily, they found their fathers on the wrong path; 69 But they make haste (to follow) in their footsteps. 70 And indeed before them, most of the former people went astray. 71 although, verily, We had sent warners unto them: 72 Then see the nature of the consequence for those warned, 73 Other than the chosen creatures of God. 74
