Noah had called upon Us (earlier). See, how excellent We were in answering him! 75 And We delivered him and his people from the great affliction. 76 and We made his offspring the only survivors. 77 and We established for him a good name among posterity. 78 "Peace be upon Noah throughout all the worlds!" 79 Thus do We reward all those who do good. 80 Lo! he is one of Our believing slaves. 81 Then afterwards We drowned the rest. 82 ۞ Abraham was of the same faith: 83 When he came to his Lord with a heart compliant, 84 and when he said to his father and to his nation: 'What do you worship? 85 Why do you solicit false gods instead of God? 86 What, then, do you think of the Sustainer of all the worlds?" 87 And he cast a look at the stars 88 and said: 'Surely, I am sick (of what you worship)' 89 And they turned their backs and went away from him. 90 Then he turned to their aliha (gods) and said: "Will you not eat (of the offering before you)? 91 What aileth you that ye speak not? 92 And he turned upon them striking them with the right hand. 93 Then they (the worshippers of idols) came, towards him, hastening. 94 He said, "How can you worship what you yourselves have carved 95 Whereas Allah hath created you and that which ye make? 96 They replied: 'Build for him a building and cast him into the fire' 97 But whereas they sought to do evil unto him, We [frustrated their designs, and thus] brought them low? 98 And he said, “Indeed I shall go to my Lord Who will guide me.” 99 Lord, grant me a righteous son.” 100 We gave him the good news that he would have a patient, forbearing son. 101 And when he reached with him [the age of] exertion, he said, "O my son, indeed I have seen in a dream that I [must] sacrifice you, so see what you think." He said, "O my father, do as you are commanded. You will find me, if Allah wills, of the steadfast." 102 So when they had both submitted their wills (to Allah), and he had laid him prostrate on his forehead (for sacrifice), 103 We called to him, "Abraham, 104 thou hast confirmed the vision; even so We recompense the good-doers. 105 Lo! that verily was a clear test. 106 So, We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 And We kept his praise among the latter generations. 108 "Peace and salutation to Abraham!" 109 As such We recompense the gooddoers. 110 He was one of Our believing servants. 111 Then, We gave him the glad tidings of Isaac, a Prophet, one of the righteous, 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. Among their descendants are some who do good, but some who wrong themselves. 113
