The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the heavens and that which comes in the night -- 1 What could let you know what the nightly comer is! 2 The very brightly shining star! 3 There is not a soul that does not have a guardian over it. 4 So let man consider of what he was created; 5 He is created from a water dripping, 6 emanating from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Surely He (the Creator) has the power to bring him back (to life). 8 The Day that (all) things secret will be tested, 9 [man] will have no power, and no helper. 10 By the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 And the earth splitting (with plants); 12 Indeed, the Qur'an is a decisive statement, 13 and is no idle tale. 14 They are devising a guile, 15 And I (too) am planning a plan. 16 so bear with those who deny the truth, and let them be for a little while. 17
True are the words of God the Almighty.
