The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the heavens and that which comes in the night -- 1 How will you comprehend what the night star is? 2 It is the piercing star. 3 There is no living being but there is a protector over it. 4 So let man observe from what he was created. 5 He is created of water pouring forth, 6 issuing from between the loins [of man] and the pelvic arch [of woman]. 7 Most surely He is able to return him (to life). 8 The Day that (all) things secret will be tested, 9 [man] will have no power, and no helper. 10 So I call to witness the rain-producing sky, 11 And the earth splitting (with plants); 12 Indeed, the Qur'an is a decisive statement, 13 it is no merriment. 14 Surely they will make a scheme, 15 but I too plan against them. 16 So respite thou the infidels - respite them gently, 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
