Hizb 46
< random >
Jonah, too, was one of the Messengers. 139 He ran away to the laden ship, 140 He (agreed to) cast lots, and he was condemned: 141 Then the fish swallowed him, while he was blameworthy. 142 Had he not been of them who glorify Allah, 143 he would certainly have remained inside the fish until the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ We then put him ashore on a plain, and he was sick. 145 and caused a creeping plant to grow over him [out of the barren soil]. 146 We sent him to a hundred thousand or more people. 147 And they believed, therefor We gave them comfort for a while. 148 Now, ask them, has your Lord daughters, and they sons? 149 Have We created the angels as females before their very eyes? 150 Pay heed! It is their slander that they say. 151 God hath begotten. Verily they are the liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters in preference to sons? 153 What aileth you? How judge ye? 154 Will you then not take heed? 155 Or have you a clear authority? 156 Produce, then, that divine writ of yours, if you are speaking the truth! 157 And they have invented a kinship between Him and the jinns, but the jinns know well that they have indeed to appear (before Him) (i.e. they will be brought for accounts). 158 Glory to Allah! (He is free) from the things they ascribe (to Him)! 159 except the servants of God, sincere and devoted. 160 So, verily you (pagans) and those whom you worship (idols). 161 Can mislead anyone away from Him, 162 Save him who will go to hell. 163 [All forces of nature praise God and say:] "Among us, too, there is none but has a place assigned to it [by Him]; 164 "And we are truly those who stand in rows, 165 Lo! we, even we are they who hymn His praise 166 And indeed they (Arab pagans) used to say; 167 "If only we had a tradition [to this effect] from our forebears, 168 We would have been the chosen creatures of God." 169 But (now) they disbelieve in it, so they will come to know. 170 Already Our Word has preceded to Our servants, the Envoys; 171 That they would certainly be assisted, 172 and Our armies shall be the victors. 173 So turn (away) from them for a while. 174 Watch them: they will soon see. 175 So are they being impatient for Our punishment? 176 So when it does descend in their courtyards so what an evil morning it will be for those who were warned! 177 So turn (away) from them for a while, 178 and see, soon they shall see! 179 Hallowed be thine Lord, the Lord of Majesty, from that which they ascribe! 180 And peace be unto the sent ones. 181 And all praise is to Allah, the Lord Of The Creation. 182
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
