The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Merciful One 1 It is He Who has taught the Qur'an. 2 He created man. 3 He has taught him speech (and intelligence). 4 The sun and the moon move according to a fixed reckoning; 5 And the grasses and the trees bow (to Him) in adoration. 6 He raised the heavens and set up everything in balance, 7 Do not transgress the scales. 8 And establish the measures justly, nor decrease the due weight. 9 And the earth, He has set it for living creatures; 10 Therein is fruit and palms having sheathed clusters, 11 and grains with their husk and fragrant plants. 12 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 13 He created man from clay like that of earthenware. 14 And He created Jinns from fire free of smoke: 15 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 16 Lord of the Two Easts, Lord of the Two Wests, 17 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 18 He has set the two oceans in motion, converging together. 19 Between them is a barrier which they cannot pass. 20 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 21 From both of them emerge pearl and coral. 22 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain you men and jinn then deny? 23 His are the ships, towering on the sea like mountains. 24 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 25

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
