The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
CONSIDER the bright morning hours, 1 And by the night when it is still (or darkens); 2 your Lord has not forsaken you, nor is He displeased with you, 3 and the Last shall be better for thee than the First. 4 And verily, your Lord will give you (all i.e. good) so that you shall be well-pleased. 5 Has He not found thee an orphan, and given thee shelter? 6 And found thee lost on thy way, and guided thee? 7 And did He not find you in need and make you rich? 8 So as for the orphan, do not oppress [him]. 9 and as for the beggar, scold him not; 10 But the bounty of the Lord - rehearse and proclaim! 11
