The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Recite in the name of your Lord Who created, 1 Createth man from a clot. 2 Read, for your Lord is most beneficent, 3 who, by the pen, taught the human being: 4 The One Who taught man all what he did not know. 5 Yet man behaves arrogantly, 6 That he thinketh himself independent! 7 Indeed towards your Lord only is the return. 8 Have you (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) seen him (i.e. Abu Jahl) who prevents, 9 a servant [of God] from praying? 10 Hast thou seen if he relieth on the guidance (of Allah) 11 He would enjoin piety, so how good it would be! 12 Have you considered if he gives the lie to the truth and turns (his) back? 13 Did he not realise that Allah is watching? 14 Let him beware! If he does not desist, We will drag him by the forelock -- 15 the lying, rebellious forehead! 16 So let him call his associates, 17 We will call on the angels of punishment (to deal with him)! 18 Nay, Obey not thou him. But prostrate thyself, and draw near (unto Allah). ۩ 19
God the Almighty always says the truth.
