Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Blessed be He in whose Hand is the Kingdom, He is powerful over all things, 1 Who created death and life in order to try you to see who of you are best of deed. He is all-mighty and forgiving, 2 who created the seven heavens, one above the other. You cannot see any inconsistency in the creation of the Merciful. Return your gaze, do you see any crack! 3 Then look again and yet again, thy sight will return unto thee weakened and made dim. 4 And verily We have beautified the world's heaven with lamps, and We have made them missiles for the devils, and for them We have prepared the doom of flame. 5 For those who have disbelieved in their Lord, We have prepared the torment of hell, the most terrible place to return. 6 When they will be cast thereinto, they will hear thereof a braying even as it boileth up, 7 as though it will burst with rage. Every time a multitude is cast into it, its keepers will ask them: “Did no warner come to you?” 8 They will say: yea! surely there came a warner unto us, but we belied, and said: God hath not sent down aught, we are naught but in a great error. 9 And they shall say: Had we but listened or pondered, we should not have been among the inmates of the burning fire. 10 Thus will they confess their sins. Damned are these inmates of the Blazing Fire. 11 As for those who fear their Lord in the unseen will have forgiveness and a rich reward. 12 And whether ye hide your word or publish it, He certainly has (full) knowledge, of the secrets of (all) hearts. 13 Should He not know what He created? And He is the Subtile, the Aware. 14
