The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Concerning what are they disputing? 1 Of the mighty tiding 2 whereupon they are at variance? 3 Nay, but in time they will come to understand [it]! 4 Nay, again, but they will come to know! 5 Have We not made the earth as a wide expanse, 6 The mountains tent-pins? 7 And We have created you in pairs (male and female, tall and short, good and bad, etc.). 8 And have appointed your sleep for repose, 9 and the night as a cover, 10 And made the day as a means of subsistence? 11 And We have built above you seven strong (heavens), 12 and We have set therein a glowing lamp. 13 And from the wind-driven clouds We send down waters pouring in abundance, 14 That We may produce from it grain and vegetation, 15 And dense gardens. 16 The Day of Judgment will certainly be the final appointment. 17 the Day that the Horn is blown, and you shall come in crowds 18 and when the skies are opened and become [as wide-flung] gates; 19 and when the mountains are made to vanish as if they had been a mirage. 20 Certainly Hell lies in wait, 21 A place of resort for the inordinate, 22 They will dwell therein for ages. 23 They will not taste therein [any] coolness or drink 24 Except scalding water and [foul] purulence - 25 The reward to each is according to what he is. 26 Indeed, they were not expecting an account 27 They called Our revelations false with strong denial. 28 and everything We have numbered in a Book. 29 So taste (of that which ye have earned). No increase do We give you save of torment. 30
