The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown). 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 and the mountains have been taken, 3 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 And when the seas are set on fire, 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what crime she was killed; 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 when heaven is stripped, 11 And when the Scorch shall be made to blaze, 12 And when Paradise is brought near, 13 (Then) every person will know what he has brought (of good and evil). 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 The stars which rise and set, 16 And by the night when it departeth, 17 The rising dawn, 18 Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. 19 with strength endowed, secure with Him who in almightiness is enthroned 20 (One) to be obeyed, and trustworthy; 21 And your companion is not [at all] mad. 22 in truth he saw him (Gabriel) on the clear horizon, 23 And he is not avid of the Unseen. 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 Whither then will you go? 26 This [message] is no less than a reminder to all mankind 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
