The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Read (Prophet Muhammad) in the Name of your Lord who created, 1 He created man from a clot of blood. 2 Recite! Your Lord is the most Honorable One, 3 who has taught [man] the use of the pen 4 Has taught man that which he knew not. 5 Nay! Verily, man does transgress all bounds (in disbelief and evil deed, etc.). 6 As he bethinkest himself selfsufficient. 7 However, (all things) will return to your Lord. 8 Seest thou one who forbids- 9 a servant [of God] from praying? 10 Have you seen if he is upon guidance 11 or if he commands others to maintain piety!? 12 Bethinkest thou, if he belieth and turneth away? 13 Does he, then, not know that God sees [all]? 14 Nay, if he desist not, We shall most surely drag him down upon his forehead 15 A forelock, lying, sinning. 16 Then let him call his associates; 17 We shall call the guards of Hell. 18 No, not at all. Never obey him. But prostrate yourself and become nigh (to your Lord). ۩ 19
True are the words of God the Almighty.
