The people of Lut gave the lie to the apostles. 160 When their brother Lot said to them: 'Will you not be cautious? 161 "Verily! I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 162 So fear Allah and obey me. 163 I do not ask any payment for my preaching. I shall receive my reward from the Lord of the Universe. 164 Do you approach males among the worlds 165 leaving aside those whom Allah has created for you as your mates. Nay, you are a people that has transgressed all limits." 166 Said they: "Indeed, If thou desist not, O Lot, thou wilt most certainly be expelled [from this township]!" 167 He said: Surely I am of those who utterly abhor your doing; 168 My Lord! deliver me and my household from that which they work. 169 So We delivered him and his followers all, 170 except an old woman who remained behind. 171 Then afterward We destroyed the others. 172 and We sent upon them a rain, an evil rain that fell on those who had been warned. 173 In this there is an evidence of the Truth, but many of them did not have any faith. 174 your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 175
