Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the winds which carry dust particles, 1 And (the clouds) that bear heavy weight of water; 2 And (the ships) that float with ease and gentleness; 3 And those who distribute (blessings) by command, 4 Verily, that which you are promised (i.e. Resurrection in the Hereafter and receiving the reward or punishment of good or bad deeds, etc.) is surely true. 5 And the judgment must most surely come about. 6 And by oath of the decorated heaven. 7 surely you are deeply at variance [as to what to believe] -- 8 Deluded away from the Qur'an is he who is deluded. 9 Perish the conjecturers 10 who are heedless in the immersion. 11 They ask: "When is the Day of Judgement?" -- 12 It will be the Day whereon in the Fire they will be burned 13 "Taste you your trial (burning)! This is what you used to ask to be hastened!" 14 Surely the God-fearing will find themselves in the midst of gardens and springs. 15 receiving what their Lord will give them because before this they were gooddoers. 16 They used to sleep but little by night [invoking their Lord (Allah) and praying, with fear and hope]. 17 and would ask for forgiveness at dawn, 18 and in their wealth was a share for whosoever asked and for whosoever was prevented. 19 And on the earth there are signs for those who would be convinced. 20 and in your selves; what, do you not see? 21 In the heavens there is your sustenance and that which you were promised (Paradise). 22 By the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is certainly the truth. It is as true as your ability to speak. 23
