Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ THE CONCRETE REALITY. 1 What is the concrete reality? 2 And what will make you know what the Reality is? 3 Thamud and 'Aad denied the Striking Calamity. 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the awful cry! 5 And as for 'Aad, they were destroyed by a screaming, violent wind 6 violent that He compelled against them seven nights and eight days, uninterruptedly, and thou mightest see the people laid prostrate in it as if they were the stumps of fallen down palm-trees. 7 Can you see any remnant of them now? 8 Pharaoh and those before him and the people of the overturned habitations all engaged in the same great sin. 9 They defied their Lord's messenger, so He seized them with an ever-tightening grip. 10 Verily! When the water rose beyond its limits [Nuh's (Noah) Flood], We carried you (mankind) in the floating [ship that was constructed by Nuh (Noah)]. 11 making it a Reminder for you, for all attentive ears to retain. 12 So when the Trumpet is blown with a single blast 13 and the earth and the mountains are lifted up and then crushed with a single blow, 14 On that Day shall the (Great) Event come to pass. 15 And the heaven will split asunder, for that day it will be frail. 16 and the angels will stand on the sides, with eight of them bearing aloft the Throne of your Lord on that Day. 17 On that day all of you will be brought forth, so none among you wishing to hide will be able to hide. 18 Then, he who is given his book in his right hand will say: 'Here, take and read my book! 19 I was certain I'll be given my account." 20 Then he shall find himself in a life of bliss; 21 in a lofty garden, 22 The fruits of which are near at hand: 23 (It will be said): 'Eat and drink with a good appetite because of what you did in days long passed' 24 But whosoever gets his ledger in his left hand, will say: "Would that I were never given my ledger, 25 And I had not known what my account was: 26 Oh, would that it had been the ending! 27 My wealth has been of no use to me. 28 "My power and arguments (to defend myself) have gone from me!" 29 [Allah will say], "Seize him and shackle him. 30 "And burn ye him in the Blazing Fire. 31 and then thrust him into a chain [of other sinners like him - a chain] the length whereof is seventy cubits: 32 Surely he did not believe in Allah, the Great, 33 And urged not on the feeding of the wretched. 34 and so, no friend has here today, 35 and the only food he has is filth 36 that none but sinners eat' 37
