The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER those [stars] that rise only to set, 1 and those that draw out violently, 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 Then press forward as in a race, 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 Followed by the second blast, 7 On that Day will [men's] hearts be throbbing, 8 and their eyes will be humbled. 9 They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? 10 What! when we are rotten bones? 11 They say: "It would, in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 But it will be only a single blow, 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Has the story of Moses come to you 15 When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 'Go to Pharaoh; he has waxed insolent. 17 and say [unto him,] 'Art thou desirous of attaining to purity? 18 ‘And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.’” 19 So he showed him the mighty sign. 20 but he denied it as false and disobeyed, 21 Then he went back hastily. 22 Then he gathered and cried aloud, 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. 25 Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. 26
