And when your Lord called to Moses, saying: 'Go to the harmdoing nation, 10 the people of Pharaoh, who refuse to be conscious of Me!" 11 He said: "My Lord! Verily, I fear that they will belie me, 12 And my breast straiteneth, and my tongue moveth not quickly: so send for Harun. 13 "And (further), they have a charge of crime against me; and I fear they may slay me." 14 He said: by no means. So go ye twain with Our signs; verily We shall be with you listening. 15 go both to Pharaoh and both of you say to him: 'We are (each) a Messenger from the Lord of all the Worlds. 16 That you should send the children of Israel with us.' 17 (Pharaoh) said: "Did we not cherish thee as a child among us, and didst thou not stay in our midst many years of thy life? 18 "And thou didst a deed of thine which (thou knowest) thou didst, and thou art an ungrateful (wretch)!" 19 Moses said, "I did do it and I made a mistake. 20 So I fled from you when I feared you. Then my Lord granted me wisdom and prophethood and appointed me [as one] of the messengers. 21 "And this is the past favour with which you reproach me, that you have enslaved the Children of Israel." 22 Pharaoh said, 'And what is the Lord of all Being?' 23 (Moses) said: "The Lord and Cherisher of the heavens and the earth, and all between,- if ye want to be quite sure." 24 Said Firaun to those around him, “Are you not listening with attention?” 25 Moses said: "(He is) Your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers of yore." 26 [Pharaoh] said, "Indeed, your 'messenger' who has been sent to you is mad." 27 He said: The Lord of the east and the west and what is between them, if you understand. 28 Fir'awn said: if thou wilt take a god other than me, I shall surely place thee among the prisoners. 29 Said Moosa, “Even if I bring to you something clear?” 30 Fir'awn said: forth with it then, if thou art of the truth-tellers. 31 So Moosa put down his staff and it became a visible serpent. 32 Then he uncovered his hand and it was sheer white to the onlookers. 33
