۞ Gather together those who were unjust and their associates, and what they used to worship 22 Other than Allah, and guide them to the path of Hellfire 23 and detain them there; they will be called to account. 24 'Why do you not help one another? 25 Nay, but that Day they shall surrender, 26 and advance one upon another, asking each other questions. 27 They will say: "It was you who used to come to us from the right side [i.e. from the right side of one of us and beautify for us every evil, order us for polytheism, and stop us from the truth i.e. Islamic Monotheism and from every good deed]." 28 But they reply: 'Rather, you were not believers. 29 we had no authority over you; no, you were an insolent people. 30 The statement of Our Lord is realized against us, and we are tasting it, 31 We mislead you and we ourselves had also gone astray." 32 Truly, that Day, they will (all) share in the Penalty. 33 That is how We deal with sinners. 34 for, behold, whenever they were told, "There is no deity save God," they would glory in their arrogance 35 and said, "Should we give up our idols for the sake of an insane poet". 36 Nay! he (Muhammad SAW) has come with the truth (i.e. Allah's Religion - Islamic Monotheism and this Quran) and he confirms the Messengers (before him who brought Allah's religion - Islamic Monotheism). 37 Lo! (now) verily ye taste the painful doom - 38 And ye shall be required not except for that which ye have been doing; 39 But not the chosen servants of Allah. 40 For them there will be a known provision (in Paradise). 41 as the fruits [of their life on earth]; and honoured shall they be 42 In gardens of pleasure, 43 on couches facing each other. 44 A drink will be passed round among them from a flowing spring: 45 White, delicious to the drinkers, 46 no headiness will be in it, and they will not get drunk thereon. 47 And besides them will be chaste women, restraining their glances, with big eyes (of wonder and beauty). 48 As if they were eggs carefully protected. 49 Then one turned to the other in an enquiry. 50 A speaker from among them shall say: Surely I had a comrade of mine, 51 Who used to say: 'Are you one of those who can testify to the truth? 52 "'When we die and become dust and bones, shall we indeed receive rewards and punishments?'" 53 Allah will say: will ye look down? 54 He will look down and see him in hell. 55 He will say, "By God! You almost brought me to ruin! 56 If it had not been for the blessing of my Lord, I would also have been taken to Hell." 57 (Another will say:)"Is it true, we are not going to die 58 and that we would not be punished?" 59 Verily this is the supreme achievement! 60 For the like of this, then, let the workers work. 61 Is this better or the tree of Zaqqum 62 Lo! We have appointed it a torment for wrong-doers. 63 Verily, it is a tree that springs out of the bottom of Hell-fire, 64 its fruit [as repulsive] as satans' heads; 65 The dwellers of hell will eat that fruit and fill-up their bellies. 66 Then they will have on top of it a mixture of boiling water. 67 Then thereafter, verily, their return is to the flaming fire of Hell. 68 Surely they found their fathers going astray, 69 So they hastened [to follow] in their footsteps. 70 Before them a multitude of people of olden times had erred, 71 And certainly We sent among them warners. 72 Then see what was the end of those who were warned (but heeded not). 73 except the sincere worshipers of Allah. 74
