The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When the heavens are rent asunder 1 hearing and obeying its Lord, as it must do; 2 and when the earth is leveled, 3 and casts out what is within it and is emptied, 4 And hearkens to its Lord and is dutiful, 5 O man, indeed you have to surely run towards your Lord, and to meet him. 6 Then whoso is given his account in his right hand 7 will be easy, 8 and shall return to his people joyfully. 9 And as to him who is given his book behind his back, 10 he will in time pray for utter destruction: 11 And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. 12 He lived rejoicing among his people, 13 he surely thought he would never revert. 14 Yes! Verily, his Lord has been ever beholding him! 15 So I swear by the afterglow of sunset; 16 and the night, and what it [step by step] unfolds, 17 and the moon when it is at the full, 18 you will progress from stage to stage. 19 So, wherefore do they not believe? 20 And when the Quran is recited to them they do not make obeisance? ۩ 21 In fact, they reject the Quran, 22 but God knows best whatever they accumulate in their hearts. 23 So give them tidings of a painful doom, 24 Except those who believe and do the right: For them there is reward unending. 25
