And indeed We saved the Children of Israel from the humiliating torment, 30 from Pharaoh; surely he was a high One, of the prodigals; 31 We gave preference to the Israelites over the other people with Our knowledge 32 and gave them such signs [of Our grace] as would clearly presage a test. 33 These people say, 34 "There is nothing but our first death, and we shall not be resurrected. 35 Bring back our fathers, if ye speak the truth! 36 Are they better, or the people of Tubba? And those who were before them? We destroyed them; they were indeed criminals. 37 We did not idly create the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them; 38 We created them not except for just ends: but most of them do not understand. 39 Indeed the Day of Decision is the appointment for all of them. 40 The Day when no relation will avail a relation at all, nor will they be helped - 41 Apart from those to whom God is kind. He is all-mighty and all-merciful. 42
