Therefore (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), enlighten, for by the munificence of your Lord, you are neither a soothsayer nor a madman. 29 Or do they say, 'He is a poet for whom we await Fate's uncertainty'? 30 Say, "Wait, for indeed I am, with you, among the waiters." 31 Or do their minds command them to [say] this, or are they a transgressing people? 32 Or do they say, 'He has invented it?' Nay, but they do not believe. 33 But then, [if they deem it the work of a mere mortal,] let them produce another discourse like it - if what they say be true! 34 Or were they created out of naught? Or are they the creators? 35 Or have they created the heavens and the earth? In fact they are certain of nothing. 36 Or are thy Lord's treasuries in their keeping? Or are they the registrars? 37 Or, do they have a ladder on which they listen? Then let any of them that has listened bring a clear authority. 38 Does God have daughters while you have sons? 39 Or is it that thou dost ask for a reward, so that they are burdened with a load of debt?- 40 Or is the hidden with them, by which they pass judgements? 41 Or desire they to outwit? The unbelievers, they are the outwitted. 42 Or have they a god other than Allah? Exalted is Allah far above the things they associate with Him! 43 (So obstinate are they that) even if they were to see some fragments of the sky falling down they would still say: “It is only a mass of cloud.” 44 Then let them be (O Muhammad), till they meet their day, in which they will be thunder-stricken, 45 and when their evil plans will be of no benefit to them nor will they be helped. 46 And there surely awaits the evildoers a chastisement beyond even that, but most of them know it not. 47 And be patient, [O Muhammad], for the decision of your Lord, for indeed, you are in Our eyes. And exalt [Allah] with praise of your Lord when you arise. 48 And glorify Him in the night and when the stars begin to wane. 49
