Nay, verily: By the Moon, 32 By the receding night 33 By the morning when it brighteneth. 34 Surely, it is one of the gravest things, 35 It is a warning for mankind 36 to whoever among you desires to go forward, or lag behind. 37 Each one is a hostage to one's deeds, 38 Save the fellows of the right. 39 (They will be) in Gardens (of Delight): they will question each other, 40 About Al-Mujrimun (polytheists, criminals, disbelievers, etc.), (And they will say to them): 41 "What led you into Hell Fire?" 42 They shall say: We were not of those who prayed; 43 And we used not to feed the poor; 44 "And we used to talk falsehood (all that which Allah hated) with vain talkers. 45 "And we used to belie the Day of Recompense 46 Until there came to us the certainty." 47 So, the intercession of intercessors will not avail them. 48 What is then the matter with them, that they turn away from the admonition 49 As though they were frightened asses 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Forsooth, each one of them wants to be given scrolls (of revelation) spread out! 52 Never! In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 No! Indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder 54 Let him then who heeds remember it. 55 And what advice will they heed, except if Allah wills? Only He deserves to be feared, and His only is the greatness of forgiving. 56
