The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
25 verses, revealed in Mecca after Shattering (Al-Infitaar) before The Romans (Al-Room)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder 1 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] 2 And when the earth is spread out. 3 and casts out what is within it and is emptied, 4 And it hearkeneth to its Lord, and is duteous. 5 O human, you are working hard towards your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 And he who is given his ledger in his right hand 7 he shall surely receive an easy reckoning 8 And he shall return unto his people joyfully. 9 But whoso is given his account behind his back, 10 He will cry out for destruction 11 But will be roasted in the fire. 12 He lived rejoicing among his people, 13 Surely he thought that he would never return. 14 But he will indeed! His Lord was ever watching him. 15 So I swear by the twilight glow 16 And by oath of the night and all that gathers in it. 17 And the moon when it grows full, 18 You shall certainly travel from stage to stage (in this life and in the Hereafter). 19 But what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 and when the Koran is recited to them they do not bow? ۩ 21 Nay, but they who are bent on denying the truth give the lie [to this divine writ]! 22 Allah knows best what they are accumulating (in their Record). 23 So announce to them a Penalty Grievous, 24 But for those who believe and do good works; for them there shall be a never-ending reward. 25
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
