Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Hath there come unto thee tidings of the Overwhelming? 1 Faces on that Day shall be downcast, 2 Laboring, toiling, 3 The while they enter the Blazing Fire,- 4 Drinking from a boiling spring, 5 no food for them except thorny plants 6 Which will neither nourish nor avail against hunger. 7 Some faces on that Day will be radiant, 8 well-pleased with [the fruit of] their striving, 9 In the high empyrean, 10 wherein they will not hear any vain talk. 11 In it is a flowing spring. 12 In which are high thrones. 13 and goblets laid out, 14 and arranged cushions 15 and rich carpets levelled out. 16 Do (these unbelievers) not observe the camels: how they were created? 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And the mountains, how they were fixed; 19 and on the earth, how it is spread out? 20 So render good counsel, for you are simply required to counsel, 21 and are not invested with the authority to compel them. 22 However, as for him who turns away, being bent on denying the truth, 23 will be punished by God with the greatest punishment. 24 For to Us will be their return; 25 Then indeed, upon Us is their account. 26
