And a sign for them is the dead land, that We quickened and brought forth from it grain, whereof they eat; 33 and We made therein gardens of palms and vines, and therein We caused fountains to gush forth, 34 That they may eat of the fruit thereof, and their hands made it not. Will they not, then, give thanks? 35 Purity is to Him Who created all pairs, from what the earth grows, and of themselves, and from the things they do not know. 36 And a sign for them is the night; We strip it of the day and lo, they are in darkness. 37 And the sun runneth to its appointed term: that is the disposition of the Mighty, the Knowing. 38 We have determined the stations of the moon, so that (after its wanderings) it returns as a dried up inflorescent spike of dates. 39 The sun shall not outstrip the moon, nor shall the night outstrip the day. Each is floating in an orbit. 40 That We bore their progeny in the laden ark is a sign for them; 41 And We have created for them of the like thereunto whereon they ride. 42 And if We list, We shall drown them, and there will be no shout for them, nor will they be saved. 43 except through Our Mercy and as enjoyment for awhile. 44 And when it is said unto them: fear that which is before you and that which is behind you, that haply ye may find mercy, they withdraw. 45 And there comes not to them a communication of the communications of their Lord but they turn aside from it. 46 And when it is said to them: "Spend of that with which Allah has provided you," those who disbelieve say to those who believe: "Shall we feed those whom, if Allah willed, He (Himself) would have fed? You are only in a plain error." 47 And they say: when will this promise be fulfilled if ye say sooth? 48 The Truth is that they are waiting for nothing but a mighty Blast to seize them the while they are disputing (in their worldly affairs), 49 Then they will be unable to make a will, nor shall they return to their kinsmen. 50
