The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Proclaim! (or read!) in the name of thy Lord and Cherisher, Who created- 1 created man from a clot [of blood]. 2 Read! Your Lord is the Most Generous, 3 The One Who taught to write with the pen. 4 Hath taught man that which he knew not. 5 No indeed; surely Man waxes insolent, 6 because he thinks himself self-sufficient: 7 truly, all will return to your Lord. 8 Seest thou one who forbids- 9 A votary when he (turns) to pray? 10 What is your opinion – if he were upon guidance, 11 He would enjoin piety, so how good it would be! 12 Have you thought that if he denies and turns away, 13 Does he not know that God observes all things? 14 Nay, but if he cease not We will seize him by the forelock - 15 A forelock, lying, sinning. 16 Let him call on his associates for help 17 We shall summon the guards of Hell. 18 No indeed; do thou not obey him, and bow thyself, and draw nigh. ۩ 19
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
