And a sign to them is the dead earth: We give life to it and bring forth from it grain so they eat of it. 33 We have laid out gardens of dates and grapes upon it, and made springs of water flow, 34 so that they may eat its fruit, though it was not their hands that made this. Will they not then be grateful? 35 Glory be to Him, Who has created all the pairs of that which the earth produces, as well as of their own (human) kind (male and female), and of that which they know not. 36 And there is a sign in the night for them. We strip off the day from it and they are left in darkness, 37 And the sun runs its course for its final destination; this is a command of the Almighty, the All Knowing. 38 We have ordained phases for the moon until finally it becomes like an old date-stalk. 39 how the sun is not supposed to catch-up with the moon, nor is the night to precede the day. All of them are to float in a certain orbit; 40 And a sign to them is that We bear their offspring in the laden ship. 41 and [that] We create for them things of a similar kind, on which they may embark [in their travels]; 42 If it were Our will, We could drown them: then there would be no helper [to hear their cry], nor could they be saved. 43 But (by) mercy from Us and for enjoyment till a time. 44 Whenever they are told to guard themselves against sin and the forth coming torment so that perhaps they could receive mercy 45 yet never any sign of the signs of their Lord comes to them, but they are turning away from it. 46 And when it is said unto them: expend of that wherewith Allah hath provided you, those who disbelieve say unto those who believe: shall we feed those whom God Himself would have fed, if He listed? Ye are in naught else than error manifest. 47 They also say, 'When shall this promise come to pass, if you speak truly?' 48 They do not await except one blast which will seize them while they are disputing. 49 No (chance) will they then have, by will, to dispose (of their affairs), nor to return to their own people! 50
