The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
56 verses, revealed in Mecca after Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil) before The Key (Al-Faatehah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
O THOU [in thy solitude] enfolded! 1 arise and give warning! 2 And your Lord glorify 3 thy robes purify 4 And uncleanness do shun, 5 Nor expect, in giving, any increase (for thyself)! 6 be patient unto your Lord. 7 Then when the horn shall be blown, 8 it will be a hard day 9 For the infidels, not easy. 10 Let Me alone with him whom I created lonely. 11 And gave him vast wealth. 12 and sons standing before him, 13 and whom I have provided with every resource, 14 Yet he desires that I should give more. 15 By no means! He has been stubbornly hostile to Our revelation: 16 I shall inflict on him hardship, 17 For he thought and he plotted;- 18 death seize him, how he determined! 19 Then may he be destroyed [for] how he deliberated. 20 Then he considered [again]; 21 then frowned and scowled; 22 then turned back, and swelling-up with pride, 23 He said, 'This is naught but a trumped-up sorcery; 24 Nothing more than the speech of a man!" 25 Him shall I soon roast in Hell. 26 What could make you conceive what hell-fire is? 27 It neither spares, nor releases, 28 making [all truth] visible to mortal man. 29 Over it are nineteen. 30 And We have set none but angels as Guardians of the Fire; and We have fixed their number only as a trial for Unbelievers,- in order that the People of the Book may arrive at certainty, and the Believers may increase in Faith,- and that no doubts may be left for the People of the Book and the Believers, and that those in whose hearts is a disease and the Unbelievers may say, "What symbol doth Allah intend by this?" Thus doth Allah leave to stray whom He pleaseth, and guide whom He pleaseth: and none can know the forces of thy Lord, except He and this is no other than a warning to mankind. 31

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
