Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ I do call to witness the Resurrection Day; 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching soul. 2 Do men think that We shall never be able to assemble their bones? 3 Nay, We are able to put together in perfect order the very tips of his fingers. 4 But man desires to continue in sin. 5 He asks, "When will be the Day of Judgment?" 6 But when the sight is dazed 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And the sun and moon are conjoined, 9 On that day man will cry out, “Where shall I flee?” 10 No indeed; not a refuge! 11 On that day, the station is only towards your Lord. 12 On that Day, man will be told of all that he has sent before and what he has left behind. 13 Oh, but man is a telling witness against himself, 14 Although he tender his excuses. 15 (Muhammad), do not move your tongue too quickly to recite the Quran. 16 It is for Us to collect it and to promulgate it: 17 Thus, when We recite it, follow thou its wording [with all thy mind]: 18 Then indeed, to explain its details to you is upon Us. 19 By no means! Verily ye love the Herein. 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 Countenances on that Day shall be resplendent, 22 Waiting for their Lord. 23 and some faces will on that Day be gloomy, 24 Expecting that there will be done to them [something] backbreaking. 25 Nay, but when the life cometh up to the throat 26 and people ask, "Is there any wizard [that could save him]?" 27 And he will conclude that it was (the Time) of Parting; 28 And the leg is wound about the leg, 29 upon that Day the driving shall be to your Lord. 30
